To all the staff of Demesne,
We are rapidly approaching the end of another year; Christmas is a time to enjoy Family and Friends and be appreciative of them.
It’s also a time when we think of those that have passed away and remember the good times with them.
Our thoughts are with you all that have lost close ones in the last twelve months.
It’s a time to create new happy memories and to look forward to all the new year will bring to us.
It’s our second year under new ownership and we as a company are heading into our forty seventh year, thankfully it has been a good year again.
This couldn’t happen without the input and commitment of us all, for that the Management of Demesne are grateful.
On behalf of the Board of Demesne I would like to wish you all a safe and happy Christmas, and we look forward to seeing you all in 2024, and let the games begin all over again.
Best wishes
Dave Williamson

Happy Easter to one and all!
As it is the end of the first quarter a few words from the Board.
COVID is still with us and we must remain vigilant in adhering to the safety guidelines, we have had a few Covid cases but thankfully all involved followed guidelines and kept their colleagues safe.
Over the month of April with the Government easing restrictions we will have a phased return to work for some of our remote workers, this will be co- ordinated by the managers involved.
Thankfully as a group we have hit our first quarter targets, not all areas got there, but the accumulative did.
Thanks to everyone for the collective efforts put in.
Enjoy your Easter break, stay safe and hopefully we will start returning to normal contact over the next few months.

NOT THE MESSAGE YOU WANT TO GET ON YOUR PHONE
2021 has come in with a Tsunami of new cases, Sadly I’m one of them!
I think more and more we all know someone who has caught it.
We were being careful after Christmas because we were a potential close contact on the 26th ,but highly unlikely.
However on the 4th my older Son started showing symptoms and booked a covid test. On the 5th I wasn’t feeling so good so I did the same.
His was negative, mine was positive.
It meant everyone in the house had to isolate from one another and the general public.
I know some of our colleagues have experienced the same, but from a start of aches and pains to sweats and shivers it has evolved into more flu type symptoms.
A week on I am down to sore throat and more cold like symptoms, hopefully a day or two will see me back to normal.
It is something better avoided and I can only encourage you all to stay safe, observe the guidelines, and most of all do not come into work if you are showing any Symptoms.
I am working remotely but cant wait to have the all clear next week to get back to some semblance of normality.
STAY SAFE
Regards,
Dave Williamson
Christmas Wishes
Wishing all my Colleagues a happy and safe Christmas.
Thank you all for the hard year put in.
I hope you make the most of your time off with family and friends.
Regards,
Dave Williamson
Best Wishes for a peaceful Christmas, with hope & Joy in the New Year.

International Mens Day - 19th November 2020
We have more than double the number of men working in Demesne as women.
Working from home has it's challenges & diffculties. With one of the more common being increased neck and back pain from a poor ergonomic set up.
But with some simple and basic movement exercises, you can loosen out any tension and begin to feel better.
We have found some particularly useful exercises here.
Welcome!
We would like to welcome all the new team members to Demesne:
Dario in Warehouse Tallaght
Dinny in technical sales Cork
Treasa in Accounts Cork
Shauna in Sales Tallaght
We are delighted to have you all on board.
A Lovely Smile!
Autumn is one of the most beautiful times of the year.
As the trees lose their leaves, producing stunning reds, oranges & yellows, it really is the years last loveliest smile!
Face Coverings
We are very much still in the midst of a pandemic.
But we can reduce the spread of Covid-19 by taking one simple step; wearing a face mask or covering.
Regular excercise paired with a healthy diet will boost your immune system & your mood.
Face coverings should be worn in all shops, public transport and any situation where 2m social distancing is not possible.
It's a simple but extremely effective way of preventing the spread of the virus.
For more on face coverings, visit the HSE website here.
Uselful Resources
Our mental health, fitness & nutrition has never been so important.
Some simpe mediatating or a short nap can help to detox the mind and act as a form of escapism.
Regular excercise paired with a healthy diet will boost your immune system & your mood.
For more on how to mind your mental health, stay active at home and to try some tasty but healthy recipes, we have found some particularly useful resources here.
Good Luck!

Coping with Anxiety
Your Mental Health & Covid-19

Social distance. Self-isolate. Stay home.
These are the messages we are constantly hearing by media outlets and medical experts to combat and prevent the spread of COVID-19. Although necessary these steps can have major implications for our mental health. Self-isolation and social distancing can cause increased levels of anxiety, stress, irritation, sleeping problems and not to mind the paranoia that comes with every ache, pain, cough or sneeze we experience. But it important to know that scientific and medical professionals are working around the clock to contain and eradicate the virus.
In the meantime, there are a number of simple but effective steps you can take to mind your mental health;

Celebrating 25 Years with Demesne Electrical
Congratulations Chris O'Driscoll
See Dave’s story below:
“As part of all our LAYA Membership we are entitled to a free consultation with a health coach, and I took the opportunity to have a consultation last week.
I did it last Friday at 8.30 and was done comfortably for 9.00.
Even though several years ago I went on a journey to get fit and shed over 2 stone in weight I started slipping into bad habits again and watched my weight incrementally go up.
In my head I knew all the things I had to do to address this but needed a kick start to improve my exercise and eating habits.
As I told the Health coach Charlie McCarthy I’m like the heavy guy sitting at the edge of the Football field who could tell you how wonderful he was on the pitch ten years ago but couldn’t run the length of the pitch now!
After the consultation I left with a food and exercise plan and a target weight to achieve over eight weeks.
Armed with a super APP My Fitness Pal to track all my activities I am a kilo down after week one.
It’s great to start giving my exercise and diet the attention they deserve, the pressures of Work and Family commitments can distract us from looking after ourselves properly.
I would recommend all our LAYA members take this opportunity
They will schedule it to suit the individual’s time constraints.”
